WHAT THIS IS. Every urban local body the source records in the district — its municipal councils and its municipalities. Complete as against its source, not a selection. WHY THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ARE NOT HERE. The source lists Rajasthan's ten municipal corporations in a table of its own carrying no district column at all. Each is named after a city that is also a district, so assigning one would very probably be right, and it would still be an assertion the cited source does not make. They are published together as "The Municipal Corporations of Rajasthan" instead. ORDER. Municipal councils before municipalities, then the source's own numbering within each. That is the order the source's sections run in and the order of the statutory classification under the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 2009, which grades a municipality by population. It is not a ranking of importance, size or anything this site has measured: no population figure is published here, because the source gives none. DISTRICT MAP — MIXED, AND THE SOURCE MIXED IT. Rajasthan reorganised its districts in 2023. This source's municipality tables are headed by the districts of the older map; its municipal-councils table uses the newer one, filing councils under Beawar, Gangapur City, Kekri and Balotra, which did not exist before 2023. Both vintages therefore appear, and lists for a district and for the district it was carved out of can cover overlapping ground. Nothing is reassigned to make the two agree: that would mean putting a body in a district its own source does not put it in. The monument registers on this site use the old map and the constituency and tehsil registers the new one; this register is on neither cleanly, and says so. A LIST OF ONE ENTRY IS NOT A LIST. A cut with fewer than 2 bodies is not published. Five districts hold exactly one body in this source — Beawar, Gangapur City, Kekri, Balotra and Jaisalmer — and have no list here; that says nothing about them beyond what the source records. One cantonment council (Nasirabad, in the Ajmer table) is likewise not seated anywhere: it is a Ministry of Defence body rather than a municipality constituted under the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, and on its own it is a cut of one. SOURCE AND ITS STANDARD. Transcribed from a published list of Rajasthan's urban local bodies. Under this site's sourcing standard (amendment 2, 2026-07-31) an aggregated source may back a published claim; claims resting only on one are marked "aggregated source" on the page. WHAT THE SOURCE CLAIMS AND WHAT IT LISTS. Its opening sentence says Rajasthan has 10 municipal corporations, "approximately 51" municipal councils and "approximately 248" municipal boards. Its tables hold 10, 21 and 215. The council shortfall is a defect the source itself flags — that section carries a maintenance notice disputing the number of cities. The municipality shortfall is unexplained. The gap is reported here rather than filled: the missing bodies are missing from the source, and no entry on this site exists that its source does not. SIX ROWS ARE ONE BODY LISTED TWICE. Bagru appears twice in the Jaipur municipality table; Balotra, Dausa, Nagaur, Kotputli and Gangapur City each appear both as a municipal council and as a municipality, the councils table being the later record. In each case one body is published, not two. 240 distinct bodies come out of 246 rows. WHAT IS ASSERTED PER ENTRY. That a body of this name and this class sits in this district. Nothing about its population, area, wards, date of constitution or officeholders is claimed, because the source supports none of it.
