    • 2026-07-28 — Bajaj, Goenka and Neotia added, on a second source: Forbes India's "Marwari Power" survey. Ranks shifted accordingly, which on an alphabetical list carries no meaning.
    • 2026-07-28 — Bhartia, Jindal, Kajaria, Khaitan, Piramal, Poddar and Surana added from Forbes India's "Top 100 Listed Marwari-Owned Companies" (March 2014), each where the business group carries the family's own name. The table is published as images rather than text, and its rows were read by eye; that is recorded in the methodology rather than left implicit.

  7. The Marwari Sweet Ledger2026 edition

    • 2026-07-27 — Feeni and Churma Ladoo retracted. Both rested on sources this site does not cite, and no replacement exists in the citable record.
    • 2026-07-27 — Ghevar and Mawa Kachori re-cited from confectionery-brand marketing pages to a news report, and their descriptions cut back to what that report supports.

  8. The Marwaris Who Built Modern Indian Industry2026 edition

    • 2026-07-27 — Ramdutt Goenka retracted from rank 1. His 1820 founding year came from Grokipedia, an AI-generated encyclopaedia, and no citable source supports that date or his individual Marwari identity.
    • 2026-07-27 — G. D. Birla's rank year corrected from 1919 to 1918, and his entry rewritten. The previous text stated he "established Birla Jute Mills in 1918 and formed Birla Brothers Limited the following year", which reversed the two events as the Aditya Birla Group's own history records them.
    • 2026-07-27 — Every citation on this list replaced. All were previously Wikipedia or Grokipedia, neither of which this site cites.
    • 2026-07-27 — What the ranking measures was corrected. The list described itself as ordering founders by "the earliest documented establishment of each house", but the entries record each man's own earliest documented enterprise, which is a different thing. The Birla house dates to 1857 and G. D. Birla ranks at 1918. The description has been corrected to match the entries; no rank changed.

  9. The Richest Indians2026 edition

    • Retracted 2026-08-01. This was a national ranking published on a site about Rajasthan and the Marwari community — the wrong list for this publication, as its own methodology acknowledged. It is replaced by The Richest Marwaris (/lists/richest-marwaris), where every entry carries a sentence identifying that person as Marwari. Nothing about the figures was wrong; the scope was.
