One method, shared by every one of the 41 lists below.

WHAT THIS IS. Every panchayat samiti — the block-level tier of panchayati raj, between the zila parishad above it and the gram panchayats below — in the district, as the State Election Commission named them for the 2026 panchayati raj elections. Complete as against that order, not a selection. SOURCE AND ITS STANDARD, WHICH IS THE STRICT ONE. The State Election Commission, Rajasthan — the constitutional body that conducts panchayat elections — in its order of 26 December 2025 naming an electoral registration officer for each panchayat samiti (https://sec.rajasthan.gov.in/cm/upload/5101.pdf), as amended on 5 January 2026 (https://sec.rajasthan.gov.in/cm/upload/167.pdf). A primary source in the strict sense: the body that runs the election naming the units it is run in. Each samiti's district claim cites the order it appears in and quotes the order's row for it. THE MINISTRY'S REGISTER, AND WHAT IT STILL SUPPLIES. Until 25 September 2026 this register was eGramSwaraj, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj's register of panchayati raj institutions (https://egramswaraj.gov.in/bpProfileReport.do). Re-read that day, it still listed 361 samitis in 33 zila parishads — the map before Rajasthan's 2025 reorganisation. Of the commission's samitis, 357 are on it, and for those the ministry still supplies the English spelling and the Local Body Code each page shows. The ministry's register also carries 4 samitis that do not appear in the commission's order under any name this site can match — Ganganagar (Sri Ganganagar), Hanumangarh (Hanumangarh), Khemli (Udaipur), Sam (Jaisalmer). The order lists Sri Ganganagar North and South, and Hanumangarh Junction and Town, without saying what they replaced. Those samitis are on no list here; their pages remain as the ministry's register records them. ENGLISH NAMES. The commission's orders are in Hindi only. For the 100 samitis the ministry's register does not yet carry, the English name is this site's transliteration of the commission's Devanagari, which each page records alongside it; a direction in a name — उत्तर, दक्षिण, पूर्व — is translated as North, South or East. When the ministry's register lists one of these samitis, its spelling replaces this site's. THE COUNT, AND HOW IT WAS CHECKED. The commission's order is a scanned image with no text layer, and it states no total. Its table was transcribed by hand twice, independently, and the two readings reconciled row by row against the scan: 446 samitis in the order of 26 December 2025 and 11 more in the amendment of 5 January 2026, 457 in all, in 41 zila parishads. The order marks 30 samitis as newly created and 19 as reorganised. Those marks are the commission's and they are incomplete — most of the 100 samitis new to the ministry's register carry none — so an unmarked samiti is not taken here to be an old one. DISTRICT MAP — 41 ZILA PARISHADS. The commission's order of 5 January 2026 appoints returning officers for 41 zila parishads (https://sec.rajasthan.gov.in/cm/upload/181.pdf), one for each district on the current administrative map — among them the eight created in 2023 that remained after 2024: Balotra, Beawar, Deeg, Didwana-Kuchaman, Khairthal-Tijara, Kotputli-Behror, Phalodi and Salumbar. With that change, 50 samitis moved district — Jawaja from Ajmer to Beawar and Tijara from Alwar to Khairthal-Tijara among them — and each keeps the address it had on this site. THREE SAMITIS MOVED AFTER THE ORDER. The Revenue Department's notification of 31 December 2025, five days after order 5101, moved Gudhamalani and Dhorimanna from Barmer to Balotra, and Baytoo from Balotra to Barmer. The commission's electoral-roll download page (https://sec.rajasthan.gov.in/SE_PDFDownload.aspx), read on 29 September 2026, lists all three in their new districts, and their district claims quote it. The picker's samiti count agrees with the order in every other district. ORDER. Alphabetical within the district. This is not a ranking: panchayat samitis are not ordered by population, area, number of gram panchayats or anything else, and no such ordering is published here because the source supports none. A LIST OF ONE ENTRY IS NOT A LIST. A cut with fewer than 2 samitis is not published. Every one of the 41 districts holds at least five, so nothing was dropped by that rule here. WHAT IS ASSERTED PER ENTRY. That a panchayat samiti of this name sits under this district's zila parishad for the 2026 elections, per the commission's order — and, where the ministry's register carries it, its Local Body Code. Nothing about its population, area, gram panchayats or officeholders is claimed, because neither source supports it.

Corrections

  • 2026-09-25 — Two statements in this method were amended. It called the 33-district panchayati raj map "current"; Rajasthan began reorganising its panchayat samitis in 2025, and the ministry's register, re-read today and unchanged since August, shows no result of that yet, so the method now says what the register holds and what it may not. It also set that map against "the 50" districts of the administrative map; there have been 41 since nine were dissolved in December 2024.
  • 2026-09-25 — Each district list opened "Every panchayat samiti in … district" and answered "… district is divided into N panchayat samitis", and each samiti's own page called it "one of the N panchayat samitis" of its district. All three now say what the ministry's register records, in English and in Hindi, for the reason given in the line above.
  • 2026-09-25 — The method said no primary source had yet confirmed the 2025 reorganisation. The State Election Commission's own orders do: 41 zila parishads, and panchayat samitis named on that 41-district map. They are now cited in the method.
  • 2026-09-25 — The register moved from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj's block register (361 samitis, 33 zila parishads) to the State Election Commission's order for the 2026 elections (457 samitis, 41 zila parishads). It added 100 samitis and moved 49 to another district with their addresses unchanged; the 4 the order does not carry — Ganganagar (Sri Ganganagar), Hanumangarh (Hanumangarh), Khemli (Udaipur), Sam (Jaisalmer) — left the lists, and their pages remain. Where a samiti moved, its earlier district claim was withdrawn and replaced by one citing the order. English names for samitis the ministry does not yet list are this site's transliteration.
  • 2026-09-29 — Gudhamalani and Dhorimanna moved from Barmer's list to Balotra's, and Baytoo from Balotra's to Barmer's. Order 5101 of 26 December 2025 placed them as they were; the Revenue Department's notification of 31 December 2025 moved them, and the State Election Commission's electoral-roll download page lists them in their new districts. Their earlier district claims were withdrawn.
