How this list is compiled

WHAT THIS IS. Every district of Rajasthan holding at least one monument on either the Archaeological Survey of India's register of Monuments of National Importance or the Government of Rajasthan's register of State Protected Monuments. It is not a list of all districts in the state — a district with no protected monument on either register does not appear, and its absence says nothing about it. THIS IS NOT A RANKING. Alphabetical. Districts are not ordered by monument count, area, population, or anything else, and the count shown against each is a fact about the registers, not a score. SOURCE AND ITS STANDARD. Transcribed from published lists of the two official registers. Under this site's sourcing standard (amendment 2, 2026-07-31) an aggregated source may back a published claim; every claim resting only on one is marked "aggregated source" where it appears.
