WHAT THIS IS. Every wildlife sanctuary in Rajasthan, with the district it sits in, its area, and the year it was declared. ORDER. By district, then alphabetically within a district. Not a ranking — sanctuaries are not ordered by area, age or importance, and the district grouping carries no judgement either. WHY THIS IS ONE LIST AND NOT TWENTY. Most districts hold one or two sanctuaries. Splitting per district the way the monument registers are split would produce twenty lists of a single entry, which is a worse artefact than one list of twenty-six. A UNIT TRAP WORTH RECORDING. The source gives areas to two decimal places. An early version of the extractor stripped the decimal point along with the thousands separators, which multiplied every area by a hundred and would have published Todgarh-Raoli at 49,527 km² instead of 495.27. Areas here are parsed as decimals.
