One method, shared by every one of the 31 lists below.
WHAT THIS IS. Every monument in the district on the Government of Rajasthan's register of protected monuments. It is complete as against its source, not a selection: no cut-off, no editorial choice about what to include, and no ranking. WHY A DISTRICT WITH ONE MONUMENT STILL GETS A PAGE. Elsewhere on this site a cut with fewer than two entries is not published, on the ground that a list of one entry is not a list. This list is the exception and the difference is real: it is a complete enumeration of an official register for an administrative unit, so "the Government of Rajasthan protects one monument in this district" is a whole and true answer to a question somebody asked. The cuts that threshold governs — forts by district, monuments by town — are slices this publication invented, and a slice of one is padding rather than an answer. WHY NOT A "TOP TEN". Because no such ranking exists that this publication compiled. Reprinting a travel guide's ordering under our masthead would be that guide's editorial judgement wearing our name. A complete designation list is more useful anyway — it is exhaustive, and every entry carries the state register's own identifier so it can be checked. ORDER. Alphabetical, carrying no judgement of significance, condition, or visitor interest. THE TWO REGISTERS ARE SEPARATE. India protects monuments at two levels, and this site keeps them apart because the designating authority is a real distinction rather than a technicality. A monument on the national register is not "better" than one on the state register; it is protected by a different government under a different instrument. WHICH MAP THIS IS DRAWN ON. The pre-2023 districts. Rajasthan reorganised its districts in 2023; these registers predate that and use the older map. See "The Districts of Rajasthan, Current Map" for the newer one. SOURCE AND ITS STANDARD. Transcribed from a published list of the register, reproducing the identifiers the register publishes. Under this site's sourcing standard (amendment 2, 2026-07-31) an aggregated source may back a published claim; claims resting only on one are marked as such on the page. WHAT IS ASSERTED PER ENTRY. The monument's name, its identifier, the district it sits in, and where recorded its location. No date, dynasty, architectural attribution, or condition is claimed, because the source does not support one.
