WHAT THIS IS. Every urban local body — municipal corporation, municipal council and municipality — that the State Election Commission lists in the district for the 2026 electoral rolls. Complete as against that list, not a selection. ORDER — LARGEST FIRST BY WARDS. Each body is ranked by the number of wards the commission lists for it; the wards are numbered 1 to N without a gap, which was checked for every body. Wards are drawn by population under the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 2009, so more wards means a larger electorate. A ward count is not a population, and none is published here. Bodies with the same count are listed alphabetically. SOURCE AND ITS STANDARD, WHICH IS THE STRICT ONE. The State Election Commission, Rajasthan — the constitutional body that conducts municipal elections — on the page where electors download the 2026 electoral rolls (https://sec.rajasthan.gov.in/SE_PDFDownload.aspx). The page asks for a district, then an urban local body or panchayat samiti, then a ward or gram panchayat, and its lists of those are the map this register is drawn from. The body that runs the election is naming the units it runs it in. Read on 29 September 2026. The page is a form rather than a document, so each claim quotes the options it shows — the district, the body as the commission writes it, and the body's last ward. WHAT WAS NOT READ. The same page is the door to the rolls themselves, which name individual electors. None was downloaded, and nothing in this register comes from one. DISTRICT MAP — 41 DISTRICTS. The commission's, which is the current administrative map. It includes the Revenue Department's notification of 31 December 2025, which moved Gudamalani and Dhorimanna to Balotra and Baytu to Barmer. Municipal corporations are listed with their district here; the old list gave them none. WHAT CHANGED ON 29 SEPTEMBER 2026. Until then this register was transcribed from an encyclopaedia's list: 240 bodies, a district map mixing the old and the new, and no figures. 234 of those bodies are on the commission's list. They keep their pages and addresses, and each now carries the commission's district in place of the encyclopaedia's. 30 changed district, most because the list predated the 2023 districts. 27 changed class — upgraded, as a rule. A body's title follows the commission; its address does not change. 75 bodies are new here, most of them municipalities the encyclopaedia's list did not carry. 6 bodies on the old list are not on the commission's under any name this site can match: Contonment Council Nasirabad (Ajmer), Jawal (Sirohi), Kaithoon (Kota), Mubarikpur (Alwar), Pali (Pali), Reni (Alwar). Pali's council is the old record of what the commission lists as Pali Municipal Corporation. Nasirabad's cantonment board is a Ministry of Defence body, not a municipality, and holds no municipal election. The rest may have merged or been dissolved; no source seen says which. Their pages remain as the old list recorded them, and they are on no list. ENGLISH NAMES. The commission writes each body's name in capitals, followed by its class in Hindi — "KEKRI NAGAR PALIKA". Where the old list carried a body, its spelling is kept (Rajakhera, not RAJAKHEDA), except where the body has since been renamed or widened (Nagar is now Brijnagar). Otherwise the commission's spelling is used, with word spaces restored where it runs two words together (MERTAROAD, Merta Road). Each page quotes the commission's own form. Nagar nigam is rendered municipal corporation, nagar parishad municipal council, and nagar palika municipality. A LIST OF ONE ENTRY IS NOT A LIST. A district with fewer than 2 bodies has no list here: Salumbar. WHAT IS ASSERTED PER ENTRY. That a body of this name and class is in this district, and how many wards it has — each quoting the commission. Nothing about population, area, officeholders, reservation of seats or candidates.
